Director of Process Engineering. The Director, Process Engineering, is accountable for successful capital investments supporting World Class Supply in the Biologics area of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementation of projects and studies that support business objectives. The director supervises project implementation activities ranging from business case development through the implementation of the business solution using the Capital Management stage gate process. The director fosters collaboration with other Integrated Project Team members, plant operations personnel, outside contractors and is able to monitor and appraise the work of staff that interfaces with suppliers in the preparation of project related deliverables. The director also provides technical and managerial resources to undertake studies, apply Capital Management Process, Lean methods and consulting to ongoing projects in existing business operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage the development of project scope, front-end planning, evaluation of alternative solutions, and preliminary designs for biological manufacturing facilities. Manages a significant capital project or a portfolio of projects by identifying and obtaining appropriate resources, providing technical guidance during project implementation, and assuring viability of technology in proposed configuration. Liaises with other technical functions to ensure successful technology transfer of new and inline products. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for core Biologics unit operations. While maintaining technical ladder, the director will guide the project process engineering team in their work assignments and their technical development. Minimum 10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Vaccines industry; inclusive of 7 years in process engineering and/or project design management in Biologics space. Knowledge of Capital Management Process. Travel and flexibility in project assignment location is required; future assignments may require short term travel assignments. Percent of travel is expected to be >25% dependent on project assignments. Demonstrated advanced leadership behaviors with experience in providing technical and managerial leadership and managing across multiple locations and countries.
