What you need to know. You will work within Motor Claims Team for our client, anInsurance PLCcompany inWexford.You will manage a portfolio of material damage and bodily injury claims. This is a permanent job. Your new job Key duties & competencies: Promptly handles material damage and bodily injury claims taking responsibility to resolve all enquiries from both customer and external contacts to ensure delivery of a focussed claims service, within own handling authority limits and strict adherence to reserving philosophy and General Insurance Claims Policy (GICP. To develop a claims case strategy to ensure that appropriate reserves are assigned, investigations conducted, and appropriate suppliers engaged. Correctly gather and interpret information to identify causation and assess the extent of legal liability. Conduct desk top investigations and where appropriate appoints liability investigator to carry out external investigation. Acquires and efficiently organises the relevant evidence and information to accurately assess the value of the claim. Ensure reserves are managed and reviewed as per reserving philosophy with transparency of activity and active management of case review. Actively recognise potential fraud / recovery indicators and application of the appropriate strategy to the claim. Identify cases which are appropriate for settlement and achieve settlements at an optimum level. Strictly adheres to local regulatory and governance requirements throughout the life of the claim to ensure that we make decisions using the right standards and meet all specified timelines. Refers to customer specific claims handling protocol and/or customer proposition service charter to ensure that we understand & fulfil the needs and expectations of our customers. This includes full adherence to all Global Corporate handling agreements. Correctly populates appropriate data on systems in a timely and accurately fashion to ensure transparency of activity and audit trail. Manage other claim types as required. Experience & Education: Up to 5 years claims experience. Degree qualified and/or holds a professional industry qualification or is working towards a professional qualification i.e. CIP/ACII. Technical knowledge of products and services. High technical claims handling knowledge within the motor line of business. Understand legislation and legal liability. Understand industry standards and protocols. Knowledge of claims agreements. Interpretation of policy cover. Knowledge and application of the litigation process. Specific knowledge of lead experts (who and how to engage. High level awareness of injury types and the interpretation of medical evidence. Recognises relevance of customer propositions and how to interpret specific handling requirements. Recognise the benefit of providing excellent customer service. Desire to learn and be flexible to business change. Key competencies: In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, with claims subject matter expertise in multiple claim types. Excellent knowledge of claims & underwriting practices and the legal environment. Advanced knowledge and application of the full spectrum of activities, practices, tools and considerations for managing the claims process. Expert knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations affecting claims practices to include but not limited to the following areas: Coverage Evaluation, Claim Investigation, Loss Assessment, Evaluation and Reserving. Have advanced working knowledge and practice in negotiation and settlement of claims, legislation & litigation management. Have a strong industry knowledge and working knowledge of fraud management. Have a proven track record in negotiating and settlement of claims in line with company policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills - both oral and written. Strong liaison and negotiation skillset. Proven Personal Attributes. Proven track record of excellent customer service. High level relationship building skills both internally and externally.
