Position: Junior Estimator. Company Division: Automatics. Reporting to: Business Development Director. Sal: Neg. Overview of the position: The position of Junior Estimator is being created to support the senior estimators in their daily duties. While also having full responsibility for pricing and tracking of certain potential orders themselves. The role will involve communicating with all internal divisions, suppliers and most importantly end customers. Therefore, strong communication skills are required. The candidate will need to have the ability to manage their own time effectively, complete tasks in a timely manner, work well under pressure and be technically minded. The successful candidate will receive full product training, however prior knowledge of building products with some sales experience would be an advantage. Some level of estimating and sales experience within the construction industry would be required. Estimator Job Duties: Prepare material for the senior estimators to price larger projects i.e. BOQ, specifications, and all relevant drawings. Follow up on all inquiries – contact the clients and keep them informed as to when they will receive a full price and get feedback on same. Have full responsibility of pricing lower end projects i.e. steel doors and glazing systems (Sky Frame, MHB) while tracking and working with sales team to close. Reviewing project drawings and technical specifications to ensure you are clear what to price. Has responsibility for managing the recording all quotes on the server, in an organized fashion. Work closely with the CRM team to ensure all projects are tracked, updated and are at the correct status on the system. Build strong relationships with our suppliers and ensure they return prices in a timely fashion. You will be the architects main point of contact for technical information and NBS specifications. Support the external FPD sales team with potential customer requests for technical information, updated quotes or any product certification that is required. Report back on any market information obtained about competitors. Estimator Skills and Qualifications: Strong sales skills and outgoing personality. Strong computer skills – with an in-depth understanding of excel. Ability to Analyze technical Information. Ability to review construction drawings. Strong numerical skills. Time management skills. Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Construction Studies or any other commercial related disciple is advantageous but not essential.
