R.T.Lane Recruitment are actively seeking a Project Engineer for a progressive role based in South Kilkenny with a well known Global Food giant. This is a hands on Projects role is supporting the Engineering and Maintenance function, and will suit someone comfortable in scoping out and leading multipl process and utility projects. Role: Management of the implementation of process and utility projects as part of the site project team. Projects are both executed in-house and by external contractors. Management of all projects in accordance with the sites stringent EHS & Quality requirements with particular emphasis placed on Change Control & Qualification procedures. Develop project budgets, scope and system performance targets for tendering to external contractors. Review tender submissions and design proposals from external contractors. Design & implementation of process changes and improvements. Monitor project progress in line with project objectives, deliverables and timelines and address potential delays including mitigation actions and escalation where necessary. Lead the operations teams in process troubleshooting and resolution of issues with completed projects. Lead process review with the production operating teams to identify process improvement opportunities and generally engage in the site CI activities. Provide expert technical support to the site production, maintenance and utility teams. Work within a cross functional multidiscipline team environment. Assist the process automation team in developing FDS user requirements. Skills and Education: 3rd level qualification in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering. 3+ years experience in project management within a large scale manufacturing environment, preferably in the Dairy, Food, Beverage or Healthcare industries. Successful track record of project delivery. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. Excellent communication – verbal & written. Work to best practice techniques such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma/GPS and drive Continuous Improvement Projects. Knowledge & experience of using AutoCAD and Solidworks desirable.
